akm-47s help?

Hey guys,

I'm looking for info about an akm-47s made by norinco. It does have under barrel rod holder and you can use bayonet. It needs work and looking to find parts manual/operaters manual/teardown-reassembly info. Thanks.....

  The Norinco manual doesn't give you much. It only takes you through removing the bolt and upper handguard. The parts diagram is small and hard to read. You can probably do much better on line.
  What is the problem with yours?

  Thanks for the info. It needs to be re-blued/cleaned. I would like to do a complete tear down and re-assy, but can't afford to take it to a professional. I re-worked several .22's etc, but have no experience with ak's. I haven't even shot it yet.

  Proper cleaning should involve removal of the upper handguard to clean both the the gas cylinder and gas port. The gas port is large and can be cleaned with a .17 cal bore brush and the cylinder with a shotgun brush.
  The piston end gets encrusted and can be cleaned with a powered wire wheel.
