I just saw a review for the new Rem. 1100 .410 and they now come with choke tubes. I do not know if the shotguns are available yet.

Good morning all: The one question that really wasn't covered, .410 ammo is available in Steel. However it' is in Skeet Loads. As rimfire said, you you want a traditional hunting load you will have to reload. Regards Dave

This whole thing got started out at the pheasant club sat. morning. Several of the hunters had .410's they were using and the question came up about steel shot. Then the question of steel shot through a fixed full choke because no one there including myself had ever seen a screw in choke for a .410! I did some checking, Browning and Remington do offer the .410 with choke tubes. Still can't find who offers steel shot loads though!
The steel shot question came up because one them of thinks he can kill ducks over decoys with a .410! He is a good shot, but not that good!

If your hunting pheasant why use steel? My grandfather uses 3" magnums with #4 lead shot in his 870 with a full choke barrel for pheasant. If your talking about duck or geese I think the .410 is a little on the light side.

Bismuth is a good non-toxic shot for hunting and it come in .410. But it's not cheap.
