Sig p229

I just got a .40 cal sig 229, and have been looking into conversion kits. While looking I saw a .40 cal 229 for sale with a .357 barrel. My question is do I need a new slide to fire .357 or can I just buy a new barrel? It seems the clips are the same, but I am not sure .357 cases will clear the breach.

  The sig 229 in 40s&w can shoot 357 by changing the barrel right? And they both use the same magazine?

  Yep, me too. Sometimes take both barrels to the range and only have to pay for one gun.
