    Its a Marlin 336 Carbine made in the early sixties in I think 30-30 and 35 rem.

    I remember Marlin making a model of the 336 in the 60's that had a 16" barrel. They called it a Marauder and I believe it was offered in 30/30 but not sure if in .35 Remington. They also make a lever action .44 magnum in 16" which they called a Trapper if I remember right.

    I had a 336 given to me by my grandad in 1969. It was a smooth operator and shot well, don't know if it was a 'Marauder' (what did I know, I was 17). But if your buddy turns the boat over on the way to the camp, the 336 sank like a rock. Only in 20 feet of water, I about killed myself trying to find it....Found the boat, but never the rifle....

    And on the Grand Marquis....that is true too. A 'performance' Marquis...(the nuts put larger RIMS on the back than the front...can't rotate tires). Not a real 'muscle marquis' until you put it on the bottle....
