Model 64 Winchester 30-30

I have a Model 64 30-30, S/N 1,679,xxx. It has a 24-inch barrel, and approx. 14.75-inch magazine tube. The receiver has about 50% of the bluing worn off from carrying, and the barrel has about 95% bluing remaining. Other than that I don't have the ability to give an accurate condition assessment. Everything is original as far as I know. I would like to know it's approximate value (or range of value) and any other specifics that can be determined by the details given above.

    These were numbered in the Model 94 series, so yours was built about 1950. Depending upon how one reads the condition, it is likely to sell between $300 and about $600.

    I think with the condition factors you mentioned (detracting) you are looking at something closer to $200 even though it is a pre '64.

    My guess is that it is worth about $450 (He Dog's guestimate is right on the money). A model 64 would have to be in really rough shape to only fetch $200.

    The price on 64s have went out of sight in my part of the country.

    never could figure out why all the hype over a 64, all it is is a 94 with a pistol grip stock and a longer bbl.

    Just a newbie here but I own a couple of 64s out of nostalgia (I took my first deer with one). From what I've read they were not popular compared to the M94 saddle gun. They were made from about 1933 to 1957 but the total manufactured is very low...less that 100,000. So the collectors who want to have an example of every winchester model made have squeezed the market (upped the selling price). Here in the Northwest U.S. they sell at gun shows and used gun shops for $450 to $1000 depending on chambering and condition. That is for a standard model. The 25-35 and 219 zipper are a lot more...again due to scarcity.
