in lb torque wrench where to get one
Is the $147 mostly plastic one from Brownell's the best buy? Looking for one for gun work, is there a better wrench for the money? A cheaper one that is good enough? Thanks!

I got one from sears while back click type dont remember how much it was though less than a 100 i am sure.....25"-250"lbs 3/8 drive got it to torque injectors in powerstroke diesels.

Check the pawn shops.
Sometimes find premium quality ones @ 25 to 30% of retail.
They're easy to check for calibration too.
Take a friend's along and connect them with a 3/8 to 3/8 socket and compare the readings.0 -

DON'T buy a click type - they wear out over time.
Buy a dial type. Extra fancy, buy a dial type that has a light on it - light turns on when you hit the pre-set torque value.
I have a Snap On, 0-400 in lb, 1/2" drive - I use it for automatic transmissions. Checked many times, never had to be adjusted.
Is this a tool that will have a lot of use? Buy a Snap On. No? - buy the Sears. DON'T buy a click type!!0 -
