Poor orphaned FA 83 50 AE - load data?
Hello Fellas,
I've just found a Premier Grade Freedom Arms 83 in 50 AE sitting orphaned in my local gunshop showcase - at what looks to me to be one heck of a price. I know that Freedom no longer builds guns in this cartridge - but it looks as if it may fit in well with the loading I am now doing for my .500 S&W.
I've been loading for my S&W .500 4" for several months now and have a good collection of moulds for the .500 caliber.
It looks like this 83 50 AE might well work in concert - cast bullet wise - with what I have going already. However, I am only able, so far, to find data for 325gr. for the AE. The 83 has a long enough cylinder to handle larger slugs than that. In fact, it looks like Lee Precisions 440GC would fit just fine.
Does anyone have any loading data/experience with the 50 AE in the fine Freedom Arms Model 83?
Thanks for any input,
Pacyew
