need remington 1100 shotgun expert
well I have question about another model 1100 LW 20ga I took in trade ,everyone has told me the LW has to take a different barrel,one with a short tang and the serial number should end in K.This 20ga LW is 3" MAG and the serial # ends in U and it does not appear to have as short of tang as another LW I used to own but it was a 2 3/4,what if any barrel will interchange.I have even been told there is no such creature as a 3" magnum 1100 LW 20ga but it is marked magnum on the reciever and 3" LW magnum on the barrel.thanks in advance for any help

I can give you info on the STD 20ga. The Std, LT, and LW all have their own barrels. I know on the Standard(pre'77 12ga frame)the mag. frame will accept the 2 3/4" barrels. Your best bet on this one is to contact Remington at www.Remington.com They have a place on their site to submit questions and usually reply with a day or two.
