Browning Hi-Power T series question

Based on some pretty strong recommendations from members of this forum, I'm looking to pick up a Browning Hi-Power T series. I like the idea of high quality manufacture and classic look. But I've seen some models on GB and other sites that look similar--ring hammer, apparently Belgian made and assembled, look good, etc., but I'm not sure if they're as good as the T-series. Can someone explain the difference? If the T-series were made in the 1960s, do they differ in quality that much from, say, those made in the 70s or 80s? How do these guns compare to the current production models?
