M 1 GARAND CMP "COLLECTOR GRADE"
I have a chance to buy a Springfield CMP "collector grade" with letter, box and 200 rounds of ammo for $1100. I would try to resell, is this a deal? or about what market would bring? Can't find any of these grades in the auction. thanks ..nambu

That is a "fairly" good price as I believe there are few if any of them left through CMP. I wouold not plan on making much with a resale though as I doubt the market will support much return for a while yet.

It depends.
Different types of rifles have been classified as Collector Grade over the past 10 years. The most desireable are the original WWII rifles; value depends upon condition, but all are worth well over the price you were quoted.
Next down would be Korea War era rifles. International Harvester's are sought after, but good condition US Harrington & Richardson's & Springfield Armory's are worth the price you mentioned.
Lease desireable are the Greek HRA's & SA's (so noted on the release paper). The wood is saturated with grease, & it may not be possible to get it all out. Sellers are hard pressed to get $1,000 for these. CMP has these priced at $1,400, but can't sell many at that price.

This would be the Springfield, Korea era one. Paper states
'collector grade". It is a nice piece. Thanks both for info. nambu0
