Sears 30-30 by Win
Found a Sears Ted Williams 30-30 in a pawn shop quite nice...is it possible it might be pre-64?

Hello Michael...
Maybe, but it really doesn't matter. The Retail store guns are not what anyone considers collectable (regardless of when they were made). A Sears marked Model 94 is a $200 gun at best.

Hi Michael--
Evening Bert!!!
Berts right on collector interest.[See.. I do give credit where credits due[8D]...]. But if you're interested in a shooter and want a Pre-64, open the action and look at the lever mechanism. In a Pre-64 the lever will be attached to the action link with a solid pin. On a post 63 it will be connected with a roll pin.
Love them Pre-64's!!!!-Bob0 -

Geez! What a suck-up you are being tonight... first you kiss Dale's rearend because he gave you a quasi compliment (which was a BIG mistake Dale[:D]), and then you horn in on this post and give me a backwards compliment... what are you trying to do, run for political office or something[?][:o)]

I am by no means a winchester expert but to answer your question yes it could be pre-64,check it out and see how its made.I have collected 3 pre-64 sears model 53's, "controlled feed" they are the same as a model 70,they will never have any collectors value but are super shooters,or at least the two 30-06's are,the third one is in 264 mag and I have never tried it out, plus I could part them out and make at least twice what I have in them,no one would know if the bolt or stock or many other small parts came from a winchester or a sears.

Rifle reads [on side of the barrel] Ted Williams and is in excellent condition; has a ramp bead front sight not hood model. 0 -
