Purchased around 1985 as a new gun
Serial number: 3135A47
B-S/S Special Steel
Made in China Assembled in Korea

    "Assembled in Korea" - Not so good.
    "Made in China" - Ouch.

    History? ... Look at the first three lines of this post.

    Value? I wouldn't care if the first line said Boss if the other two lines stayed the same. Your gun isn't much different from the Russian and Turkish offerings that are on the market... Except that they don't hide their products behind the good name of Browning. He'd roll over in his grave if he knew what had happened.

    Your BSS was made in 1974 and was one of the first made, so
    I'm presuming it has a "Silver" trigger (as opposed to gold)
    and has "NON-Select" single trigger (as opposed to select single).
    Barrel length and how each are choked is a question, but the
    gun if in nice shape has appeal.

    the bss is unique in the sense that it was the only sbs browning ever marketed. they are a fine handling gun and will give years of great service. ballpark on these guns is around 5 to 600.00.

    Thanks for the reply.

    You are correct on the non-select silver trigger. The gun was my wife's father's gun he purchased for home protection. Near mint condition, I believe he only took it out one or twice to put a few shells through it.

    I am looking forward to finishing out dove and quail season with it.

    These guys are rather proud of this gun .

    I've got two in factory hard cases (12 and 20 ga). These are my field guns for the most part .

    I can't seem to find them anymore for under $750 on auction or gun stores and when I do they sell for alot more . It will only go up in value , hang onto it . SxS

    Especially like the specific item mentioned, with English stock
    and SS triggers and desirable choke.
    Since it's Christmas I'd take a 20 Sporter though, preferably.

    I used to have one just like yours. Made in Japan, Not Korea, I understood by Miroku Arms. That's what it says on the barrel anyway. I never saw any information that said it was assembled in China either.
    I loved mine and used it many years to hunt pheasants and Huns up in Montana and here in Minnesota. I also took it back to my home state of Nevada for some of the best quail hunting I ever got into. It's a great handling shotgun.

    We have the second amendment so that all the rest are secure....UNK>
