More on this... 16 ga, single barrel Shotgun. can't find in blue book. this doesn't appear to a Crescent as many of the store guns are. Actually it is a very nice Gun. Nice Checkered Wood Gold lettering.

I seem to recall that Stevens offered a line of shotguns sold under the Triumph brand name. This is where we need our moderator Capt. Kirk and his massive data base of firearms, old and new.

Yes I found a (Triumph)reference to Wards having a pump and a SxS Made by Stevens. I can't find any ref. on a single. Nor can I find a Stevens that looks like this puppy. I can't rule it out though. I'm still think I.J. ... Receivers look identical...

It sounds like you have a Crescent shotgun. Link below may help, it is fitting, my Grandpa gave me a 12 gauge Elgin when I was 12 years old. Crescent made firearms under several names, including Triumph and Elgin. Seems like they picked "known" names, these largely sold in hardware stores and such. No need to chat too long, the following link, you will find yours referenced not quite half way down.

Good Evening Gang; Just pulled up TRIUMPH from the data base, It was a TRADE NAME used by J.Stevens Arms Company on Shotguns....Both Single and Double Barrel Models....No great Collector Value...Singles are worth less than the Double Barrel Models......Best....

I have found a couple Stevens with a match on the receiver And can see that your source is probably right. This receiver, sure looks identical to the I.J. Infact the trigger guard looks more like the I.J. that the Stevens. I wonder if these two companies didn't do a little horse swapping or something? Or maybe one just copied the others design.
