I have very lil' experience owning one, but I have shot a few.

I was wondering if anyone had any good or bad experiences with the model.

    Welcome to the forums!!!

    I've had a P7M13 since the 80s. Couldn't ask for a better quality pistol, but I've shot conventional pistols for so long just can't get used to the action.If you're considering it for target shooting you'll love it. If you're considering it for self protection in a carry gun just be sure you really practice so you can use it when the ol' heart starts pounding...

    I will echo what Hangfire said. I have a P7M8. It is a nice gun but it takes some getting used to.

    The squeeze cocker action makes for a very different feel from the pistols I usually shoot. As he said, if you want to use it for protection you will need to practice a lot with it. Its operation should become automatic and smooth if your life is going to depend on it.

    H&K makes great firearms. The P7 is very, reliable, very durable, and has no recoil to speak of. Now the big kicker, you better open up your wallet wide. I really don't think they're worth the almost $1,900.00 retail you pay for them. you could probably get a new one for around $1,500.00 If you have the money and you think it's worth it, then buy it![:)]

    I'll still take a Browning High Power for my "Main" 9,
    but I just got back one of my P7's (M8) yesterday from HK, where
    I had factory extended/threaded barrel installed.
    Just was testing it with a GemTech Vortex suppressor and it
    is "Super Sweet".
    No recoil and "Quieeeeeeeeeeeet" as can be.
    Am shooting it in my basement and the Mrs. isn't even complaining.
    Now that's "Cold Weather" shooting at it's best.
    Now to get it done to one of my M13's!

    GREAT GUN!

    Shoot one before purchasing, they aren't for everyone.

    I bought one the first year they were imported. It has been a good pistol. The only thing I don't like is the fact they get very hot if you if you shoot a lot of rounds rapidly.

    Very high quality, extremely reliable (never had one jam on me, never seen one jam...EVER), but here in the U.S., VERY expensive. $1500...you've gotta be kidding me! I should've stocked up on them in Germany where we could find them for $450 or so, back in the day.
    Squeeze cocker takes some getting used to, but is pretty nifty once you do. I like the fact that the squeeze cocker also acts as a slide-release when you do a reload with the slide locked back...kinda cool.
