WILL A TRIGGER PLATE ASSEMBLY FROM A 12 GUAGE 1100 FIT A 20 GUAGE STANDARD X FRAME 1100/ thanks for any help

    Hello shotgun experts
    I recently acquired a 20 ga. Remington model 1100, SN L2746xxN On the barrel it reads 20 GA.MAGNUM for 3 in shells. The receiver is marked "magnum" also. Will this shotgun function with 2 3/4" shells or will only 3" shells work properly? Thanks to everyone

    Plugs are the same between 870 and 1100, I know. I would expect the 11-87 to use the same.

    WalMart will probably not have one. I'd be very surprised if they do. Call Remington customer Service. That's such a common part that they can't screw it up.

    5/8" wood dowel at lowes cut to fit for under 99 cents will do the same thing!

    For many years, before they switched to the green plastic plugs, Remington actually used wooden dowels to plug the mag.

    Wood dowel works the best for the least amount of money

    Cheaper is not always berrer..Wooden plugs will absorb moisture..moisture is not good for the inner surfaces of the mag. tube or the spring... $6.95 is not muchto invest in a $7-800 shotgun.. IMHO.......
