if your at least fairly mechanically adept (can remember how to re-assemble what you dis-assembled) it is not that difficult at all.
take your time, patience is the biggest thing to think your way through it the first time or two

I find using a digital camera to document each step in the dissembly really helps when you need to put it back together. Also, everything is easier if you remove the buttstock first. You will need a long screw driver for this but you can clean and lubricate everything.

Maybe I haven't taken apart enough 99's in the past, but IS there a way to remove the bolt WITHOUT removing the buttstock first?!?!

Men, like bullets, go farthest when they are smoothest.

I've never taken down a M99 bolt assembly, but in general I always like an exploded diagram to refer to before I start either the assembly or dis-assembly of an unfamiliar action.

    1.Remove stock (LONG screwdriver needed).
2.Unscrew and remove breech bolt stop and screw, and trigger spring and screw, from each side of top rear of receiver.
3.Open action by pulling lever down and remove breech bolt by sliding it to rear and left (note that the cartridge cutoff and spring will probably fall free of the receiver at this time).
    Regards, DaveF.
