Why ruin a nice gun by putting an ugly plastic stock on it?

I didn't ask. He said he wanted to replace the stock that's on it. Preferably with a synthetic one. He also told me there was a difference between the 12 ga and 16 ga stock. I'm not a shotgun guy, but told him I'd ask here, where the experts are.

I looked in an old original Remington parts list and they do show different numbers for a 12 and 16 stock.Never tried a 12 on a 16 so really can't say what the actual difference is...sorry.

    Jeeze Rimfire-he was just asking.

    Love them Pre-64's!!!!-Bob

The only difference would/could be is the size of the barrel channel in the forend. The 16ga bbl diameter is so close to the 12ga, on a pump it should work without a problem.

Thanks james and trapp. I'll check there for it.

By the way, what other people think about what someone else wants to do has no influence on me. You know what opinions are like!!!!!!!!!!

I can't speak for everybody, but I don't think anyone was offended. Most folks know if you're going to look at a gun, it looks better with a nice piece of wood. If you're going to abuse it, (i.e. take it out of the house), an ugly piece of plastic works better. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. [;)]
