Serial# 4582XXX. Any Idea what the Date is on this.

  According to Madis, it was made in 1978.

  With a serial number that high, it is not a "Model 1894".
  
  Now, if you have one too many of those idiotic/ignorant "X"s attached to the end of the number, then it might be a Model 1894 afterall... you tell us, and when you do, PLEASE drop the "X"s. It could have been made in 1896 or 1908... depending upon what the FULL serial number is.
