parker-hale
bought a parker-hale model 1200. 270 cal. serial number B-08005. cannot find much info on parker-hales. could someone tell me how old this gun is? information very appreciated! thanks!!!

Without looking in a reference book I'll give you a little help but not sure on everything. Parker-hales were made in England on a mauser type action. Some parts are interchangeable some aren't. I think the British military used Parker-hale built target rifles for high-power range firing. Some of the actions are showing up in parts catalogs because they were improperly heat treated and were dismantled.

i think the p-h's that was scraped due to improper heat treating was all calibered in .308 win. thats where us mauser guys are/have got some great bull/target barrels for 98's cheap. i dont remember the model designation on those right off but im pretty sure they were all .308's

1200 series Parker Hale was made in Birmingham, England. Great wood, free foating barrel, .22-250 to .300 cal (.270 was VERY accurate). Not sure of the build dates, I bought 2 of them in 1972. Lock up of the bolt is good, but when breech is open the bolt appears very loose.
These are very good quality and very accurate, not a remake. Been shooting both of mine for over 30 years.
