another scope mounting question

    Given the vast number of styles called "weaver" these days, do you mean actual weaver brand rings? My personal favorite are the weaver brand 4x4 rings as sold by Brownells which have never failed me on even my 300wby and 8mmMag. Still, the scope is moving foward in the rings due to recoil, ok, one old trick is to smear some rubber cement inside the rings before assembly and make sure that the screw are down tight and even. Still if you are using some off brand weaver style rings, you might think about buying a better quality set.

    Hello Double sided tape around the scope under the rings work also I know you want the finish to remain as new but make sure there is no oil on rings and scope untill they are mounted.
