Winchester 1911 Auto Loader Shotgun
Im looking at buying a winchester 1911 SL shotgun for my collection of old guns, and most of these have cracked stocks and forearms. Does anyone have replacements for these. I checked Brownells and Numrich but they dont have any. I have seen some 11's in the past with new wood on them but I cant find it myself. Anyone know who can help.
Thanks

Hello Wehrmacht_45...
That is one of the more common problems with the Model 1911. I am not aware of anyone (comercially) who has made replacement stocks for the Winchester Model 1911... there simply was/is not enough demand for it (only 82,774 of them were made).

Hello wehrmacht! Well Winchester in their great wisdom, put laminated brich stocks on the Md 1911. They also failed to use "water proof" glue when making them. I've seen a few Md 1911s that looked like the stocks were cracked but upon close examination, it was actually coming apart at the glue line. If this is the case they can be repaired. But to your original question, you might try Boyds gunstocks, he may have them. If not email me for a few other places to check. Click on only winchesters to the left. Regards Dave 0
