Kind of an odd statement to make, Andy. There's nothing inherently wrong with a Llama. Are you having problems with yours? Some of them need a little touch-up to work properly, but then they work fine. Granted, not a Colt, S&W, SIG, Kimber, etc., etc.; but as good as an Armscorp or Rock Island Arsenal. As far as I know there are no stainless slides available, because they don't make it in stainless. If you don't like your Llama, put it on the auction, make me aware of it, and I will bid on it![:D]

Its not that I dont like it. I cant change the grips with most other brands no stainless steal in full size. But cant complain for 230 bucks for a 45.

Well, having a couple of Llamas myself, a bit older that the current model, I can understand the grip-change problem. You can get them custom made by Ajax or Herrett, not really all that expensive, and sometimes they are sold by others. A bit of a challenge is to make them yourself; and it's not that difficult. But, if you need/want a stainless gun you'll have to look elsewhere. A number of manufacturers offer 1911-type pistols in stainless, but they cost more than the Llama. Kind of goes back to the old saying, "You get what you pay for." But I believe that a Llama is a good, basic place to start in the 1911 world. You'll probably want to work your way up to something a little better (and more expensive) after you shoot it for awhile. Best wishes.

For the price of a new slide ,then having it correctly fitted ,it would outweigh any price you might get out of the gun ,if you really want it done just have the slide done in robar or something similar ,I think robar does it for 20.00 bucks

Shoot it for a while and you will end up wanting to upgrade. Sell it and get a 1911 with a little better reputation. The quality of Llamas is inconsistent at best. With most guns except for military surplus, the saying "you get what you pay for" usually applies.

An evil tree bears evil fruit. You can destroy as much fruit as you want, but it will always grow back, and it will always be evil.

Tear the tree out of the ground by the roots and burn it. Burn it to ash and grind out the embers with your boot until there's nothing left. Not a single spark. Not a single seed.
