Need help with pistols

I have recently inherited many guns. Mostly pistols. I have a portion of the inventory listed on my web page. There is 34 pistols listed here. There is about 120 total, all varying in make, model, and condition. If you know of any usefull information for me as to what any particular gun is, or value please contact me at the below email address.     Sort of. The previous owner was a collector and just got them as he came across them I believe.

    The Colts are-with exception of the Thunderers-a pretty nice bunch, led in value by the Bisley. Maybe I missed something-are you selling these, trying to find values for insurance purposes, or just curious? As others have said, you could use some books, but the best route would be to find a knowledgeable dealer or appraiser you can trust.

    If #71 is a seven shot .22, it is likely American from the 1870's or 1880's sold by mail order catalogs for 2 dollars or less (some went for as little as 99 cents). There were a lot of mfgs of these. You may find marks on the inside. These are a wonderful piece of Americana. I shoot mine with CB caps (afraid shorts might blow it up) and at 10 feet half the slugs are going sideways and none of them will penetrate 1" of wood. It took great courage to use one of these for personal protection since if your assailant was a big guy, it would just pi$$ him off.

    Preciate the info I've gotten so far. Main reason for trying to gather info will be for selling purposes. At the moment I'm mainly trying to gather info so that I know what I have to deal with and an idea on what I should ask for. I'll probably be getting the blue book that someone had mentioned previously. I'm new to pistols really, especially collector grade, and I'm afraid I'm a bit over my head. So the more info I can gather, the better I will be later. Thanks for the info so far, and I welcome more! :P
