Para Ordnance .45 acp

Are the Para Ordnance brand pistols as accurate and smooth, and good quality as I have heard. I need a good gun and Ive never shot one of these.

  My 14-45 is reasonably accurate and is very reliable. I use it for USPSA matches. I can hit the A zone most of the time up to 40 yards. It never fails to feed, function or eject. I wouldn't reccomend a 14-45 for concealed carry though, if that is what you are wanting. They are big and very heavy.

  If you have small hands you would not be happy with it, or any pistol with a double column magazine.

  not all Para ordnace are double column mag, they make several that take the standard 1911 mag
  I have 2 Para's 1 is their 14.40 LDA and the other is 7.45 LDA both are great guns , I think you will be happy if you buy one [:D]

  my first 45 was a para p-12. very accurate it is the only gun i have ever sold and i regret it. sold it to buy my kimber

  I have had a P14-45 for several years now and I like it. I have had no problems with it and it is pretty accurate. Lots of people in IPSC shoot them for the mag size. It is a really good shooter but like others have said it is a bit big for a cary gun.
  
  If you are looking for something like it get one like this:
  I like my Para but I LOVE my Kimber ( did I mention that I LOVE my Kimber). Yes it is that good and I actualy paid less for my Kimber. This Kimber also has 14 rd mags that interchange with the Para ones. The reason I like the Kimber better is that the grip is a little slimer. It is a bit lighter, enough that I do cary this one most of the time. The sites are better, the safty and trigger are better. The part I like best is the recoil of the Kimber, it is a straight back push, where as the Para has alot of muzle climb.

  I have one of the old late 80's early 90's model para-ordnance pistols. And it has only malfunctioned twice in it's lifetime and both times it was using light defensive loads and some really old ammo that didn't quite fire off properly, the loads weren't strong enough to operate the slide. It is still shooting strong and accurate today, and if Tools (another poster here) can hit a 4" square inside of a 2.5" group at 25 yards then I'd say it's working just fine still.

  I like my P14.45 Limited, but I ran out of sight elevation room @ 25yds to get it in the 5 ring. I told Para-Ordinance about it, and they sent me a taller front sight... for free! My pistol has always functioned well, but I don't like the way a heavy (loaded) magazine rattles around in the mag well, and also the clips are extremely difficult to load past 10 or 11 rounds.
