Squirrel Gun Opinions
Does anyone have any experience or own a Remington 504 22 new this year.
I just bought one and am very impressed. Looking for opinions of others.
Thanks

candyman, that little gun ought to make a fine squirrel rifle.Put a decent looking-glass on it and get the stove fired up. I would recommend at least a good 4x scope for shooting squirrels. A 3-9 variable likely would be better; something like a Bushnell Elite 3200 or better. In my younger days I used to shoot 'em off the peanut shocks on my uncle's farm with a Remington 513SA equipped with a Weaver J4 scope. If they were within 50 yds, dead squirrel! At 75 yds, 60-40 chance of some meat. At 100 yds, missed most of the time!!!
If you're hunting in open woods, sight it in for about 75 yards and try both regular and high velocity ammo to find a good accurate round and stick with it. Some people liked to use hollow-points but I didn't.
Good luck,
