anybody got a verona lx 500???
my friend picked up a stoeger condor and was raving about how great it is and what a super deal he got $279 before tax and nics i've been looking for a sxs to beat up on so he mentioned they had the stoger uplander sxs for the same price so i fought the black friday crowd today to get a look and was not all that impressed and ended up with the verona o/u in my hands covered in drool after a hour of unanswered questions and the sales people couldn't even tell me what model it was my g/f beat me up and dragged me out the store kicking and screaming the whole way anyway i was just curious if anyone on here had one and what there opinions were and i also have questions about how these new fangled safties work the gun was 599 minus 30 for the sale and nobody is sure how long it'll be on sale so any info would be greatly appreciated and thanks in advance for reading

thanks for the reply he dog i tried doing a search but i couldn't find much info at all and i can't get on the verona web site for some reason i'm glad your happy with yours i didn't find the model you mentioned but they sure seem very beautifull from the pics i don't wanna get anything to expensive as i'll be to worried to be hunting with it thanks again good luck with yours 0 -
You may be wise to stay away from the Stoger I had a side by side some years ago and needless to say i got what i paid for. 0 -
thanks for the warning line mech i didn't really like the stoeger to much i always wanted a sxs but i want one i won't be scared to use i hunt in the thick stuff which can be hard on guns i've also been interested in the baikal's izh-43 but i've never seen one in person but thats who's making the stevens 411 and the spartian for remington so maybe there better quality i'm not sure 0 -
Verona is distributed in the US by PMC ammo company. I too found their Verona website down, but try next week, maybe they will correct the problem. The Verona company is owned by Fiocchi, who makes Fiocchi ammo, and there is a Fiocchi who is a VP at PMC, so there is likely considerable cross polination there. The Verona factory is located across the street from the Beretta factory, and many of the Beretta builders moonlight at Fiocchi. I believe they are well built shotguns. 0 -
thanks again he dog though these guns are getting cofusing pmc fiocchi i've also heard rizzani makes them and i heard something about fabarms was involved somehow as well i hope they get that web site up and running as i'd love to check it out along with some of the other models as i heard the 500 series is only made for the big chain stores and i was concerned as to what some of the differences are most of the info i've heard comes from shotgun worlds forum thanks again for your insight 0 -
I had a Stoeger Condor with the 2 BBLs (12 and 20) shot skeet and sporting clays with it as a "starting" gun. Shot it for almost 2 years - estimatete 5,00 shels - absolutely no problems. Sold it for $400.00. Now I am shooting 2 Berrettas, AL 391 Tenky Golds in a 12 and a 20. Just picked up a used Rizzine - Verona mod 502, 20 ga, very short for me, was a ladys gun, for $350.00.
All and all I was pleased with the Stoeger, ugly and heavy, lousy balance but........0 -
I bought 1 in 20 ga. from Dick's for $500 OTD and got 2 Carlson's skeet tubes and it is my economical,(less shot and powder)new skeet gun. I believe these are a close-out as that is the way Dick's had it priced, but I feel it is a good value; quality VS. price. 0 -
Well now PMC and Verona are down the tubes and it turns out that Veronas were built in several places, not just by Fiocchi. F.A.I.R Rizzini built the one I have. Still love it, but parts will be a worry some day. 0 -
