AK-47 'pin-on' muzzle break question....
I just got this AK-74 style muzzle break for my post ban AK-47. It's a pin on type. Supposedly, it's suppose to slide on the front of the barrel, there's a cut out that allows it go around the sight post and then you take a pin out of the sight post and run it through the break and post and it's on. How the h#&& is the bottom part of it suppose to get by where the cleaning rod fits in? That piece under the barrel that the cleaning rod fits in is just as wide as the sight post but there's no cut out on the d@mn break! Help.

I suggest you look into having the barrel threaded. Try this site out.

You could always have a gunsmith or a machine shop do it. They will do it right. Usually on a lathe.
Good luck.

Yeah, it's a Romanian. It would be nice if they'd let you know that in the auction description. I'd like it threaded but I don't really want to spend the extra money on this if I can make this pin on work. Do you think I could cut out a portion on the bottom of this thing that matches the top so it would slide around the piece under the barrel? I don't know why it wouldn't work. 0 -
Yes, it would probably work fine. Be sure to measure & cut short of goal and file to fit. Then re-blue. BTW the pin on FSB is one way. Don't kill yourself and the barrel by hammer too much. Barrels do not like hammers.

Thanks for the info Gin. I didn't know it was one way. I'll keep that in mind. 0
