Pistol Permit in North Carolina?

I haven't bought a handgun in years, I heard that in NC you can use a concealed carry permit instead of having to get a permit from the sheriff. True?

    Contact Your local Sheriff's Office and Ask Them......Then You'll know for sure...Takes all the Guess Work out of the equation....

    In North Carolina you can use your NC concealed carry permit to purchase an handgun without having to get an individual permit from the sheriff for each purchase. This is new in the past 6 months. You can also use your concealed carry permit to purchase a long gun without having to have the call-in criminal check.

    Another alternative, ask the local gunstore.

    I have noticed that the people who make their living selling guns tend to know the rules about doing so pretty well.

    If they can sell you a gun with your CCW, they'll be happy to do so! If not, they'll probably be happy to tell you what you need to complete the sale.
