It seems there have been a ton of posts recently regarding the price of Romanian SAR-1 AK-47's. I purchased a paratrooper model in August of 2001.Now to my questions. Do the paratrooper models generally have a higher price tag? Is there any difference other than the stock? I have very little experience with AK's. In fact, I still haven't even fired it yet. Any information would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

on another thread a GB.com posted a link showing a detailed, step-by-step method for even the average AK owner with trigger slap to be able to use some fairly common garage tools and get rid of the trigger slap. The problem was something about how when Century Arms imported the AK's they didn't think it was necessary to add one more step to the manufactuerring of the trigger group and that is the reason for the trigger slap. I am guesssing one of the posters who come along next will have that link. If not I will try and search it out for you.

In regards to the butt stock tagging your cheek, I'm not sure how you should deal with that. I myself have never really had such a problem I couldn't solve by keeping my cheek slightly off the comb or moving my head forward or backward on the comb just enough to avoid any contact on recoil.

What kind of stock do you have on it? On my wood stock AK you will see a "dip" in the wood your cheek bone should be in the dip. On mine if I don't do this it will pop me in the face.
