Stevens 25 rimfire

I know it's hard to ask for help without a pic, but my father-in-law just passed and now I have the job of selling some of his guns. The only one I don't know about is a J Stevens target 25 rimfire. It is a single shot rolling block. It has a fine burl stock, provisions for a palm rest, a very heavy octagon barrel and target sights. Best described as a schutzen type. Any leads as to where I can find some info as to it's value. Thank you for any and all help. I will try to take pics later.

Without the NRA, the second ammendment would already be gone!<P>

    Obselete round, but if it's what you say... Then the gun will carry a fair value. To put in perspective, a .25 Favorite in nice shape will bring $200.00 to the right buyer. Yours is a much nicer gun.

    Hello STEVENS made some fine single shot rifles There is a lot of small factors that without pictures I would hate to advise you ,BASICLY there are 2 actions No. 44 and No. 44&1/2 and many models The higher the No. example 45 ,46,47,etc the more features PALM REST, fancy butt plate, fancy trigger guard , fancy wood, If you send some pictures I can give a better idea. If you want to sell on this site yuo will need pictures These are sort after guns and could bring many $$$$$$ kfwneedle@nexet.com

    If it has a palm rest and heavy octogonal barrel, its probanly not a Favorite. There were deluxe Favorites and Ladys Models with burl stocks, but neither had the other 2 features.

    Thanks to all who responded. It is more like perry shooter described, with a fancy brass butt plate, fancy trigger guard and the burl wood. It also has a double set trigger. I will take pics when I get the gun later this week. Again, thank you all

    This does, indeed, sound like one of the Stevens "Schuetzen" type rifles (Model 51, 52, 53, or 54), and, depending on condition, could be worth several thou$and dollars.
