Value for a "MODEL EIG.E4" 22 cal. pistol
I am curious about the value for a 22 cal. Pistol and holster I have. The piece is an EIG brand, with white checkered pistol grips. The grips both have a gold colored, target-like insert with "EIG" marked on them. The barrel is 2 9/16" in length and on the L.H. side has "CAL 22 SHORT" and below that is the serno. "444091". At the back end of the barrel, an eagle is stamped with an "N" beneath it. On the R.H. side of the barrel is stamped "MADE IN GERMANY". The L.H. side of the cylinder section also has the serno and eagle stamped. The top of the cylinder section is stamped "MODEL EIG.E4". The cylinder is stamped with the eagle and above the eagle is stamped "*". The bluing (blackening)on the piece is very good.
The holster is in excellent condition. It is a light brown color with a basket-weave finish. It has a snap type strap. The data on the back of the holster on the belt loop reads "Top Grain Saddle Leather", "EIG BRAND", "Germany", "BW-2".
This is a piece I will leave my son and want to insure it.
Thanks,
Tom

Unfortunately, that is a very low-end RG-type pistol that has no appreciable collector or even shooter value. Importation was banned under GCA'68.
It would not be worth the insurance deductible.
