Weatherby (worth the money)
I considering buying a athena grade 3 field 0/U. Nice looking gun. Some people have expressed to me some concerns about Weatherbys being over priced and not worth the money. Any thoughts on this gun? Would any of you recomend this brand? look forward to your thoughts!

[8D]There is no such thing as an over priced Weatherby, you want Quality or investment?[?][?][?][?][:D]

weatherby shotgun,...worth the money,..weatherby rifle,..NOT!! Now if you want a big bore rifle,..they are some of the better rigs (because accuracy is not a factor). MHO
why chase the game when the bullet can get em from here?....
Got Balistics?0 -
If you can, try shooting one first. It just didn't fit me well enough to give me confidence in it. Other people I knew expressed same. But if it does fit, and you seem to dial in to it, it should be fine. Nothing bad about the gun, just some guns fit people differently. 0 -
I've owned exactly 1 Weatherby shotgun (Orian), and it didn't last 6 months before it started firing both barrels with 1 trigger pull. There warrenty dept stinks. I'll never own another Weatherby product.
OTOH I know a guy with a large collection of Weatherby shotguns, he got them cheap from people with the same problem mine had.
IMHO Buy a used Cetori and you'll be happier.
Some guys like a mag full of lead, I still prefer one round to the head.0 -
Was talking about Weatherby shot guns at the trap range just last week and some of the old timmers were saying, They break a lot, not birds the gun. I'm with JustC on the rifles, toooooo much free bore. Never have seen one shoot Good.[V] 0
