What is my 308 Remington 88 lever action worth
It has been only fired max of 10 times. I have an extra cartarge for it also.

I thought that it was a Remington but that was my husbands 30-30 lever action. Mine is a 308 Winchester model 88. Thanks for the clarification.

No, it is a 308 model 88 with lever twist bolt action. Bought new by me in 1972. It has a cartridge that holds 4 shells and I had an extra cartridge because my husband thought that I would miss. I fired the gun 5 times to sight and 5 times to kill. 3 elk and 2 deer. Never needed the second cartridge or shell when I had game in my sight. It has a quick point sight and the original open sights. I still have the original shells -10 in Remington package. I used 120 grain bullets. They were powerful enough to do the job for me. 150's I thought were too slow.

Barrel length will determine whether it is a rifle (22" barrel) or a carbine (18" barrel) or thereabouts.

Guys, Hatlady knows exactly what she is talking about. The Winchester Model 88 was made from 1955 to 1973. Hatlady bought hers in 1972, so it was one of the last ones made. The Model 88 was made in caliber .243, .308, 284 and .358. The Model 88 was made in two versions, a rifle with a 22" barrel and a carbine with a 19" barrel. The carbine was not made in caliber .358. About 283,000 Model 88's were made.
In caliber .308 the values are:
Exc: $500
V.G.: $400
Good: $300
Fair: $250
Poor: $2250 -
Depending on location,I'd say in the condition she describes it should bring more than $500.00. [^]

Most of the ones I see around here are in 308, and in fair condition. They still get $350-400 for them.
