Manufacture date of my Python?
I recently bought a Colt Python but, so far, haven't had much success in finding out the year it was manufactured. The serial number is Y54XXX.

I called Colt one time about a Commander's manufacture date and they were pretty helpfull. You might give that a try. Their phone number can be found on their website.

I wound up calling Colt and there was only one guy on duty in customer service. He was nice enough, but said Colt doesn't have its serial numbers on a computer data base! He would have to manually look up the number on fiche. I guess all of Colt's financial difficulties over the years has left them in the stone age, technologically. So I have to try them next week, after the holiday.... 0
