IDPA loads .40 S&W

I'm looking for suggestions for a load for .40 S&W to shoot in IDPA matches, any suggestions out there would be apprciated. Thanks

try hodgdon clays and 180gr rainier rnfp bullets. i belive the powder charge is 4.5 gr. this works very well for me in idpa pistol matches. get one of the free hodgdon free books and it will tell you the charge weight.

Careful there Rodger, Hodgdon list 3.5 of clays with a jacketed bullet. The plated ones give higher pressures. You could have caused a Kaboom.
Soliciting data from the internet is OK, but make sure you have a book you can compare that data to to make sure everything is Kosher.

I have plenty of books for reloading, I was just wondering what preferences people around here had, I am just looking for powder/primer combo's I would double check everything before I just started making ammo.

I use Federal primers for all my .40 pistol loads just in case the end up in my revolvers. For standard length ammo(1.125) I use AA#5 or HS-6. For long ammo(1.20-1.25) I use Solo-1000. Don't use solo 1000 in short loads it cannot make enough power to make major without spiking the pressure. For general pupose loads AA#5 is hard to beat.
