need info on Remington 760 Gamemaster .270

I need to replace the firing pin in this firearm, but can not for the life of me figure out how to get the bolt assembly out. Any help??????

    I believe that the entire trigger assembly has to be removed to gain access to the bolt. Should be a couple of pins through the receiver, one forward and one aft of the trigger guard. They have to be "punched" out to remove the trigger. Past that, not sure where to go as I have not worked on one of these babies.

    I'm certain that a couple of REAL experts will check in and give you the lowdown on what to do from there.

    I have already done that, it does not come out that way, It is not like the shotguns. This is my first one of these babies I have had to work on. But thanks for the reply!!!

    If I'm not mistaken, the barrel has to come off and the bolt ass'y comes out thru the front end of the receiver..It's been quite awhile since i worked on one...

    Thanks, That is what I was afraid of. [8D] From my parts list, it shows the barel comes off with a bolt in the action tube assembly, is this correct?

    Barrel must come off. Check the fore end tube. This is the tube under the barrel. You will see a couple of holes in it. Insert a strong punch or better yet, a straight rod through the holes and turn the tube off. Everything will come out the front. When putting it back together, put the bolt and cover back as a unit. There is a groove inside the receiver for the port cover to ride in, and an edge that the side of the bolt must be on the top side of.

    BT99 has got it right. I had to do this once a long time ago on my own 760. The tube that the forend rides on must be unscrewed as described by BT99. From that point on it's pretty straight forward.
