Does the Classic custom target model have the firing pin safety?

Hello it depends when it was made. The easy way to tell is lock the slide back and look down at the frame if there is a small hole to the right of the disconnector hole that is filled with a pin that rises and falls with you working the grip safety that is the fireing pin block release.You can also turn the pistol upside down with the slide locked back and see a plunger that is in the slide under the rear sight. quote:"PRAISE THE HARDBALL GUN" 0 -

I personally do not like a FPS on a 1911...just another think to fail.
If your in a Commie state like Cali, I guess you need a FPS/drop safety.0 -
Thanks for your help, If I am correct It does not have the pin safety as I am looking at it. I also have a Pro carry 11 in front of me that has a pin that goes up and down when the grip safety is pressed and I also see the plunger in the slide. The C C target doesn`t have those parts in it.

Hello DIABLO I agree but at least the kimber unit Is like the 1937 colt SWARTZ SAFETY when colt came out with the series 80 they changed it to keep from paying royalty but this screws up and made the trigger work the fireing pin block this gave a heavy gritty trigger pull. Kimber uses the grip safety and does not hurt the trigger pull. 0 -
That is true.
The trigger pull is still sweet.
