410 slug question
Most manufacturers will load up to 3/4 ounce of shot in 410 shells.
But the heaviest 410 slugs Ive seen are 1/4 ounce.
Just wondering out load why not a heavier 410 slug?
edit 1/4 ounce is about 109 grains

Hello Ya'll
I have a full choke 410 shotgun, is it recommended to shoot 410 slugs out of a full choke gun? Will this damage the gun? Thankyou Beltfed0 -
For best accuracy they recommend improved cylinder, I have shot slug through a full choke and haven't had any problems. The reason the Foster slugs have the raised vanes that we call rifling is so that they can be compressed while going through the different sized chokes and hopefully they will spin as air passes over them in flight to stabilize them.
Good luck0 -
I have never used a 410 but have shot many a slug in 20 and 12 gauge thru full choke barrels and never had a problem [:D] 0 -
I,too have shot slugs through a full choked shotgun.
The only 'mistake' I made was doing it with a coach gun.OUCH!!
Man do those things ring steel too.[;)]
