DOM for Wards Western Field

Was given a Wards Western Field Model 46 (no serial number) in .22 S-L-LR. Trying to learn the approx manufacturing date range for this rifle. Thanks.

  Basically a Mossberg 42. Best guess without knowing more specific information is the late 1930's - c.1940.
