Ready for a 10 gauge?

okay im 14 yrs old i started shooting last year in a trap league(eek) yeah well i started on a 20 and moved to a 12 gauge and i was just wondering and i would like to try it if i could try a 10 gauge?

    It would kick more, and you can only compete in informal matches with a 10 gauge. Really, I don't see why you would bother, unless you just enjoy more recoil and can't hit crap with a 12 gauge.

    If you actually wanted to improve your performance and wanted a challenge, you'd go the other way. Shoot 12, then 20, then 28, then .410 (though IIRC, trapshooters only compete with 12 gauge. Skeet has competitions for 12, 20, 28, and .410).

    no im pretty good its not that its just i wanted to try somthing new and i can get a used one in good conditsion for 50 bucks

    i cant see any reason to use it for shooting trap. I would also be pretty apprehensive about a gun with a $50 price tag on it.

    Ammo has got to cost more for 10 gauge as well, and the thing I've noticed is that after a while the cost of ammo starts to eclipse the cost of the gun!

    How long is it going to take you to spend $50 extra bucks worth of shells on that cannon?

    Just curious,that kind of cannon can you buy for fifty bucks?
    I don't seea lot of 10 guage ammo around but then I've not actually looked for it either.12 gauge is enough for what I do.
    If more kick is what you're after,and you're 12 gauge has 3" or even 3 1/2" chambers I'm sure ammo can be had to kick the bejeebers outta ya.:)
