Black powder pistol problem

I`ve got a black powder pistol that will not cock when you pull the hammer back. Is this a hard fix or perhaps just not worth the time?

    Bet the wedge is to tight.
    Has to be some play in the cylinder.
    Loosen the wedge until the cylinder has a little back and forth slack and then try it

    No play in the cylinder and it rotates as is should. This model does`nt have a wedge. It has a lever under the barrel.You lower the lever to seat the ball on the powder charge.When this lever is in the lowered position it allows you to pull a pin in the center of the cylinder forward allowing the cylinder to be removed.The problem seems to be with the mechanical workings of the trigger.

    Sounds like the hand spring is broken and will not allow the hand to rotate the cylinder. Had the same problem in a Colt. Take the cylinder out and try cocking the hammer, the hand should come out of the face of the frame and rotate the cylinder as you cock it. If the revolver does not have a removable side plate, take it to a gunsmith.

    Must be a Remington
    The remove the trigger guard and check the cylinder stop spring.
    It sits on top of the trigger guard and held in with same screw.
    You will hvae to remove the hammer/hammer screw to check the hand.

    If it rotates the cylinder ok, it's not the hand (which you can confirm by trying to cock it with cylinder removed).

    Does the half-cock safety work? If so, the full-cock notch in hammer is probably worn or chipped off. If no half-cock either, then trigger or trigger spring may be broken...

    Looks just like a Remington copy in 22WRF`s picture.It is made by F.Llipietta in Italy. I`ve been messing with it and I can get the hammer to stay back if I pull the trigger forward while cocking it. Is that a spring or a sear? I can`t get a gunsmith to even look at it.Are parts avaliable?

    Notice the spring just to the right of the trigger guard in the picture. If you remove the trigger guard you will probably see that one of the prongs is broken or bent. Good news is that it is a cheap & easy repair.

    Notice the notch in the front of the trigger where the longer prong fits.

    Hey thanks alot for the quick replies.I should have thought of Dixie Gun works myself.I wasn`t thinking past my own little town shops.Guess I have to remember to think outside the box. Thanks again for your help.
