An individual who may legally possess such a firearm may make it for his own use without permission from ATF. While ATF recommends that you request a serial number for it (I suggest cbxjeff1), that is optional. Such a firearm may never be legally transferred through a licensee.

Thanks for the reply guys. It looks like the UZI probably wasn't the best choice to begin my carreer in manufacturing. I now realize that I can have only 10 imported items of 20 from the BATF sec 178.39.

D&D Sales offer some USA made parts. Does anyone have other sources?

    Thanks again,

Did you buy that Vector yet?

I bet if you went over to uzitalk.com you would find more build info than on here.

    James buddy,

It hurts me to hear you talk like this. Of course I give a snot about the rules. That's the whole idea of the post son. A suggestion ... why don't you make a contribution to the topic rather than make an off hand ignorant remark.

As long as the firearm being built is of legal configuration (not short barrel rifle, full auto, etc) and he is using enough US made parts to qualify it as a US made firearm, there is absolutely nothing illegal about this, and no need for any ATF paperwork, and no need for serial numbers.

Jeff, do some internet searches for "uzi discussion forum", I found the following pretty quickly, I'm sure others are out there. They can probably help.
