10/22 Folding Stock with Heavy Barrel
Has anyone heard of this being done, or know if it can be done? I wanna use a butler creek synthetic folder and I want to mount a target barrel in it. If anyone knows how or can please respond.

Hi, and welcome to the forum!
Two things will have to be addressed.
First is the barrel channel in the stock. You will have to open it up to accommodate the larger diameter barrel. Synthetic stock will be harder to do than wood.
Second is what to do about the barrel band as it will not fit the larger diameter barrel. This may prove to be your biggest problem as I don't know of anyone making oversize barrel bands. So your approach would have to be similar to the oversize wooden stock where the barrel is free floated, or in some cases there is a pad that contacts the barrel about an inch back from the front of the forend. You could try leaving a contact pad when you "hog" out the barrel channel. That way you could remove it if you were having accuracy problem easier than building up a pad if there were problems.
From my persepctive that's it ... basically a few hours of work. Go slow and it should turn out for you.
If you only have time to do two things so-so, or one thing well ... do the one thing!0 -
At one time Butler Creek sold a folder/.920 combo try to contact a company that carry's BC and chances are you'll be shooting in a week or so.
