45-70 Factory Loads?
Whats a good factory load for 45-70gov, the intended game is whitetail. Thanks guys.

Since you seem not to be reloading for it, try Buffalo Bore. They have a nice assortment from 1873 Springfield to Siamese Mauser level! What gun will this be going through? Most of the moderns are plenty strong but be careful if you are shooting a venerable old classic. I am currently loading in the area of 5000 ft lb at the muzzle in an 1895 Guide Gun, but I wouldn't recommend this in anything else other than a converted bolt-gun. Some of the winchester 350 gr HP's I shot a while back were pretty stout and I am sure they would serve well too!

I'll be shooting the little'ol NEF Single Shot. I haven't gotten into reloading so they need to be factory loads.

Well, my guess is that YOU don't mind recoil either! That lil' rifle will definately bark with a hot 45-70 in it!! I still say the Winchester 350 gr. soft hollow point will do the trick for a reasonable amount of money. The Buffalo Bore and it's contemporaries are VERY spendy!
