I have a Rockola M1 Carbine with the barrel stamped.

Can't find any reference to it.

    Help I have two m1 carbine. 1 underwood .1 standerd. Receiver on standerd #2179xx. But Barrel is not standerd. marked p on top but under stock at back is marked .[?] p michaels. Batavia Ill b1

    first off if its blued as you say its not original, they had a greenish grey parkerized finish. look on the barrel for import marks such as blue sky etc... what type of sites flip type or knob adjustabe type? what barrel band no bayonet lug or with lug? stock does it have any stamps numers bomb or cartouche? so many questions can you post a pic? [:D]

    Monk.... Assuming it has its original parkerized finish, the stampings indicate it is an all Inland Division of General Motors gun.

    Mauser asked some good questions. An import stamp on the barrel would detract from its value. If it has a bayonet lug on the barrel band and sights adjustable for both windage and elevation it would be a later model.

    If the cartouche markings on the stock are still there it would add to its value.

    It sounds like you are complaining because it will sit in someone else's closet. In your post, you said that you wanted to advise your friend, not buy the gun.

    Well, based on the additional information you provided, I think that I can safety estimate the approximate value as ...... $525.

    Of course, if it really IS all original, your friend could have bought himself a digital camera, with an additional $500 left over, for the money he could have gotten for it.
