AR-15 value
With the sunset in place I'm not sure what the correct value is for one of my rifles. I am thinking of selling a Colt Ar-15 carbine. It' the M4 configuration. It has a Trijican reflex II sight that is detachable and also another scope that has illuminating reticles. Both are detachable. It has the redimag and about 20 30 round magazines. I have shot it only to break in the bore and to sight in both optics. I want to sell it kind of quickly but dont know what to ask for it. Any ideas/suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
New gun??? No, honey, I've had it for years.

Not really sure what you have. The M4 configuration was not made during the production life of the AR-15. We need to know exactly what is stamped on the receiver. Do you have a mixed parts gun, that is, an AR-15 that has had the upper (& maybe the stock) changed? Or do you have a Match Target-series gun that has been modified? Or, did it leave the Colt factory as an M4, & what barrel length? If you have the original box, marked M4, with all original packaging, it will bring substantially more than a mixed parts gun.
Knowing what to ask for a gun is never a problem when you list it on Gunbroker. One of our readers starts his auctions at $1, & has never been burned. If you are afraid of that, start it at the lowest price you would consider accepting; you can do no worse than that, & will likely do better.

thanks Neal, the gun is mixed parts. The lower is pre-ban and the upper is I think 16 inch with flash hider and collap. stock. Thanks again for your help.

There are some states that are still under the rules of the old ban by state law.
I could be off but I believe the state of New York still considers stuff being pre-ban as legal for sale.
You may be able to sell your gun for more to someone in one of those states.
Otherwise, being that yours is a mixture, I think your stuck around what the going rate is for a No Ban Colt.
I bet that you could still get $700 to $900 for it though.

I agree with drobs on the price range. The pre-ban lower no longer draws high bids today. But, you might get lucky, as there are some folks who might pay more because of the stock &/or the M4 upper.
The Trijicon scope is top quality, & you might do better selling that separately. The mags, if USGI, especially Colt, could bring quite a bit by themselves.
