trigger depressed on 1911 Argentine colt 45.

    i would take it down ,and clean it ,it is easier than you think ,and it is probably full of crud ,if not you can replace a broken part ,they are a very simple design once you get over the newness

    The NRA sells an inexpensive reprint of their articles on the 1911, & it includes detailed instructions & photos on disassembly/assembly.

    The 1911 pistol has a three blade flat spring. The blades have to be bent forward to give pressure on the trigger and sear.
    As I recall the blades are the left and middle.
    This is standard practice on military springs because they are on the soft side.
    You have to remove the mainspring housing and the grip safety to get at this spring.
