.17 HMR
I've been thinking about getting a .17 HMR any opinions on this little round? Is it worth it compared to a .22? what will it take down etc?

Bass Pro has 3 different .17 HMR's on sale next week. That is all I need and am going to purchase one. Remington semi auto, Savage bolt and I believe a Marlin bolt. What is everyones opinion on which is better?
Thanks

Hello Chief,
I don't know what you want to spend but the Marlin 17VS is a great value in my opinion for $300-350. It is an extremely accurate rifle out of the box and with a little tweeking on the trigger, I couldn't really ask for more. I ran over 500 round through mine on a prarie dog hunt this year. Occationally the spent cartridge wouldn't eject was the only problem I had.
