Whats the story with BT99 and BT100

Hello I was wondering what's going on with Browning's BT 99 and BT100. My friend wants to get one and his dealer advised him that Browning stopped making BT-100 and the back order for BT-99 is about 6 months. Any one knows if they still make the 100
Anything in that price range that you can suggest besides BT100.

    BT-100's are not currently manufactured. BT-99's start at about $1100 and are being made. You can also find used deals on both models. I do not know about your area of the country, but new BT-99's are available in Ky. and there are several on GB.

    I seem to remember Browning having a problem with one or the other of this model firing on closing the action. It more than likely was a matter of lots and lots of wear and poor maintainance, but do ask. I defer to bobski on this one. Overall, they seem to be well made, attractive guns that still get the job done.
