Taurus Pistols with rubber grips..??
I am thinking of buying a Taurus pistol. The one I like comes with the new style rubber grips with the serrations (for lack of a better word). They are uncomfortable and don't fit my hand well. The dealer tells me this gun only comes with these rubber grips. Anyone know of a company that makes replacement synthetic ivory or exotic wood grips for these pistols..??

They don't call the "Rubber Grips" they are "Ribber Grips".I've never tried them but those people who have say they are great.[:)]

I have one of the Taurus Trackers in a 4" .357magnum with the 'ribber' grips and love the feel of the gun. A couple of friends have shot it and were quite impressed with the feel of the gun, no to mention accuracy. However, I'm sure it's possible that the 'ribber' grip wouldn't feel great to every person in the world. Taurus makes a similar line of revolvers with the standard rubber grip, or interchangeable grips. Might think about those instead of the Tracker series, which I believe is the only ones with the 'ribber' grips.

I, too, have a RIBBER-gripped Taurus Tracker...in the .17HMR. It's a sweet shooter and feels great in the hand. Of course, we're not talking RECOIL from the .17, but it's easy to hold onto when palms are sweaty. Try it, you MIGHT like it. [^] 0 -

Ribber grips are great...but fancy grips don't make for a reliable weapon.
Look for my other posts about how terrible Taurus customer service is and reconsider.
I own the 627 Ti (.357). To be fair...great feel, extremely accurate, extremely light with only a slight kick...
However, after the experiences I've had with their unconcerned customer service, I'll never buy another Taurus again.
I had my sights set on the 24/7 but will now be buying a Sig.
Just speakin' from my experience of the last 3-4 months.

On the Taurus website they list other grips for the Tracker pistols that can be ordered as accessories.
